Make Sure You Ask These 5 Questions During A House Tour
1. "How long has the house been on the market?"
Remember, just because a house has been on the market a long time doesn't mean there is something wrong with it. It could be the original listing price was too high.
At any rate, enlist the help of your agent to determine why the property has remained on the market for a longer than normal time.
2. "What do you like about this home?"
3. "Does the house need any repairs?"
While the sellers must disclose known issues, you'll want to know if those issues have been repaired or still need to be fixed. If it's the latter, you want to know how costly those repairs will be.
A trustworthy agent will point out the flaws. You can decide whether to walk away or not. It all depends on what you're comfortable with.
4. "Do you have any concerns?"
Ask your agent what he or she sees. They may see something you would not have thought of.
5. "Is the price fair?"
